FileMaker not responding with some fm_sql_execute statements

Hi there - Great job on 1.5 release! I love the new features (especially the error handling stuff ;)

I am having a problem with FileMaker not responding with certain fm_sql_execute statements. In particular, I want to create and drop indexes. Create usually works but drop seems to fail consistently. Application just hangs and force quit seems to be the only option.

I have made a movie of the behavior but it's too big to attach to this post. Please let me know if you would like to see it and I will get it to you somehow.

Thanks!

Sorry, CREATE, ALTER and DROP are not supported...

Glad you posted this Jonathan because I should have mentioned this in the demo movie. Check page 30 in the manual:

“It’s very important that you do not attempt to execute an SQL query that includes CREATE, ALTER or DROP statements. This is not supported by this function and will require you to force quit FileMaker.”

I know, I know, who reads the manual! :)

We may be able to get this working in a future version, but for now, this is not supported.

Regards,
Micah
