PHP plugin (version 2) won't load on Windows XP SP2 (FM 8.5 Advanced)
Very dear Micah,
I have to delivery my application on a Windows XP SP2 (fresh install) but the PHP plugin won't load on Windows XP SP2.
I checked the forums and I got the followings:
*************************
A. Installation on Windows requires 2 files. The PHP.fmx file goes in the Extensions folder like any other plug-in. The second file, which is included with our distribution, is named php5ts.dll and it must be placed in the FileMaker application folder. The typical location is here (assuming FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced):
C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced\
*************************
In fact, SmartPill PHP Edition™ 1.0 works OK with php5ts.dll (of course, I lose all the features I implemented when developing with versione 2.0!) .
*************************
UPDATE: The php5ts.dll IS NOT REQUIRED when using the new 1.5 version.
*************************
But, SmartPill PHP Edition™ 1.5 & 2.0 do not load at all.
*************************
... try running Dependency Walker (http://www.dependencywalker.com/) and it should tell you what's missing.
*************************
In fact it says that are missing: FMWRAPPER.DLL, MSVCR80.DLL, MSJAVA.DLL (all the three with a yellow question mark) and MPR.DLL (with a different symbol).
But:
- FMWRAPPER.DLL is already in the FileMaker 8.5 Advanced folder
- MSVCR80.DLL was missing so I downloaded it from Your link in the post 136 related to Windows 2000 and I copied it in the FileMaker 8.5 Advanced folder (I copied only MSVCR80.DLL and I did not copy neither MSVCM80.DLL nor MSVCP80.DLL).
- MSJAVA.DLL I don't know where to find it and I haven't seen any reference to it in the forum
- MPR.DLL I don't know where to find it and I haven't seen any reference to it in the forum
Can You suggest a move?
Many thanks,
Carmine
p.s.: what to do if I need to licence SmartPill PHP Edition™ 1.0?
Reinstall FileMaker?
Hello Carmine,
From the email you sent, I think you figured out how to get things working with 1.0. As I mentioned in the email, our licenses are backward compatible so a 2.0 license will work with 2.0 and any earlier version.
At this point, you may want to try reinstalling FileMaker. If that doesn't work, let me know and we can try working through the issue.
Regards,
Micah
