FileMaker Server 11

I hope that it is something simple, but I thought I followed the instructions for installing SmartPill on the server. Then I uploaded Testbed.fp7 to have it served. No go...

I purposely stopped and started the service *after* placing the plugin and PHP Support and License.txt file on the server and uploading Testbed.fp7.

I can open Testbed.fp7 from the server no problem, but any inclusion of SmartPill is nowhere to be found. It is not to even listed as a possible Plugin within Preferences.

Admittedly, I expect that I am embarrassing myself, as this is the first time I have ever tried to 'distribute' a plugin by putting it on the server. I am confident that there is some sort of 'duoh!' step I overlooked.

BTW, the server is the TechNet Dev copy, but other than the number of concurrent users it should be identical to regular FM Server.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Brad

Ah, the manual :)

Hello Brad,

I'm guessing that you've got things working now. Installing a plug-in for use by the server is indeed a completely different task from making it available for AutoUpdate.

Micah

Duoh!

I may still not understand after reading this:

http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fms10_autoupdate_en.pdf

but at least I might be able to ask the question more intelligently :-)

It would seem, duoh!, that the 'distributing' of serverside plugins happens via Auto-Update.

Ah! Reading the manual!...

Thanks,
Brad
